Open education efforts continue to enhance access for OC students

Thanks to a grant from BCcampus, over the next several months мÓÆÂÁùºÏ²Ê¹Ù·½ÍøÕ¾ College will be adding to its strong track record for promoting and supporting open education practices, including the creation, use and adaptation of open educational resources (OER). The $10,000 grant is empowering project lead Roën Janyk, Web Services Librarian, and a group of OC employees and student union representatives who have been meeting for the past several years, to focus their efforts on honing an open education strategy and action plan for the College. ...

After compiling recipes into a delectable read, the What We Cooked: A Compilation of Recipes During COVID Times cookbook is available for purchase. The idea for the book started when a team of College library staff members noticed their online daily conversations constantly reverted to food. With a hunger to support the community in a time of isolation and invite others to connect on a relatable subject, What We Cooked was born. In a time of self isolation and work-from-home existence for many, мÓÆÂÁùºÏ²Ê¹Ù·½ÍøÕ¾ College’s Library Services team is creatively cooking up a way for the community to engage their culinary senses for a good cause. Entries are now open for What We Cooked: A Compilation of Recipes During COVID Times cookbook. Organizers are inviting OC employees, students, alumni and the community to submit the recipes that have proven to be staples throughout the pandemic.
